  • Go For No – Law of Attraction Meet

Go For No Authors Andrea Waltz & Richard Fenton

Go For No Authors Andrea Waltz & Richard Fenton

“Go For NO” authors Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz popped in for a surprise visit today at the Thursday Member Focus Group meeting.  We planned to have a book discussion about their book and we were pleasantly surprised that the authors took time to attend and share some of the their thoughts about the book and the process of going for NO.

When I first became aware of the book via my friend Pat Herrera (thanks Pat!) we thought about asking them to come to our meeting however the authors are in high demand for training and keynote speaking and their time is limited.  Our group is a volunteer group as are the presenters.

So I thought.. “wouldn’t it be nice if the authors came to our meeting?” and let it go…

I had a big smile on my face when I walked in the room and saw the authors Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz chatting with some early attendees! My intentions realized and the authors gave us 20 minutes of their time and some great tips and a coffee mug that says GO FOR NO!

Afterwards we enjoyed a lively discussion and the whole room was abuzz with energy — this was the most fun I have had in ages!

Get your book and DVD as soon as possible.  The lessons are so useful even for folks that are no specifically in sales and marketing! Everybody faces rejection and hears the word “no” and some times we let that stop us.  ”Go For No” teaches us to not settle and embrace the process.

  • Go For No

“Go For No” is one of the best books I have ever read and probably the most influential in my life and in the lives of many others.   How often do we need to ask people for a decision – to buy our product or service for example, and open up to either a yes answer or a NO.  Most people really don’t like rejection!  -  BUT rejection is something we all face.   “Go For No” re-frames this transaction in such a way to take the sting out of the answer and allow you to be more effective and enjoy the process a whole lot more.  Check out the book “Go For No” by Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz and see what happens for you.

"Yes is the Destination, No is How You Get There!"

“Yes is the Destination, and No is How You Get There!”

  • Healthier living is a life journey – not a destination

Some times the hardest step is the first one. So just start. It doesn’t have to be perfect, biggest, longest or fastest. Just have a NIKE moment and simply do it.

If you would like to enjoy the benefits of a healthier body you can take baby steps by walking a little bit more, drinking more water, and taking time to laugh.

Take those baby steps today. And tomorrow too, because they all count!

One of the most challenging thing for some of us is getting our exercise in each day.  Here is a little trick to help you stay on track with your healthier lifestyle.

Make a pact with your Self to follow these three simple rules:

    1) Commit to a specific number days each week to invest in your body for physical activity.

    2) And then stick to it.  Of course LIFE HAPPENS and we aren’t always “in the mood” to work out and it can be easy to rationalize and not follow through.  So when you feel that backsliding urge to stay put,  you employ:

    3) Work out for 10 minutes and let yourself off the hook and check it off your list!

This little trick works great to keep on track to your goals over the long run.  Recent research shows that 10 minutes is all our bodies really need anyway and after 10 minutes your feel good brain chemistry will probably kick in so you will now feel like continuing to move your body instead of stopping.  Either way you WIN and you can pat yourself on the back for a job well done!

Remember – healthier living is a life journey — not a destination.

  • Start where you are

Start where you are. It’s enough and it is all you can do.

And it is enough.  And it is all you can do.  And it’s enough!

Well, duh! you think. But how many people miss this important first acknowledgement of all journeys and begin with a handicap?

But when you think about it, how can you possibly find your way to New York if you don’t first acknowledge the fact that you are in Iowa?

Can you imagine wanting to travel to New York and not being able to pinpoint where you are starting from?

    How would that work?

Of course the answer is — it wouldn’t.  At some point we begin the journey. But whether we start from a real place that easily facilitates a plan from point A to point B, or we make something about about the place we are starting from.  And that made up place probably doesn’t serve us.

  • Imagination is more important than…

     Albert Einstein
“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

    Harry Palmer
“Reality consists of the experiences we believe are real.
What is real may or may not be the same for everyone.”

    Wayne Dyer
“When you change the way you look at things the things you look at change.”

    George Bernard Shaw
“Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”

    Brian Tracy
“The establishment of a clear, central purpose or goal in life is the starting point of all success.”

Change your view – change your life.  Well it may sound simplistic, but the position of our body alters our mood.  Research has shown that depressed sad people tend to hold their heads with a downward cast.  Looking down and feeling down.

    Look up and LOOK UP!

Most smiles are started by other smiles.  Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself.

Have you ever rearranged the furniture in your house and felt a sense of relief or refreshment?  Why is that?  Sure you might have taken the time to clean the dust bunnies out from under the furniture so your space is cleaner and lighter, but it’s the same furniture, in the same room, with the same window coverings and flooring.

So what is different?  Well your perspective has changed.  Now when you sit on your furniture you are looking at a different wall than before.  You have literally changed your perspective and hit the F5 key to resfresh your brain.

Have you ever walked past the same crooked hanging picture over and over again until you no longer perceived that the picture was hanging crooked?

On the Internet good webmasters move the ads around on the page slightly in order to keep our attention. When the page looks the same time after time, we cease to see the ads and develop what has been dubbed “ad blindness.”   The same kind of thing happens in our daily life with all kinds of things.

For example, I am a recovering packrat and clutterbug.  I am dominant right brain creative, visually wired person and as such like to have things in sight lest I forget about them.  (Out of sight out of mind, comes to mind.) Ironically, I like clean spaces, uncluttered surfaces and a neat environment.  (I know sounds mixed up doesn’t it?!)

On my journey to learn how to live with less stuff, I discovered an interesting method to get a reality check on my living space.  At that time my office was where I spent the most time and it also doubled as a living area and was jam packed to the gills with “stuff”.

I took photographs of the entire space doing a 360 of my office.  It was packed with useful and needed items.  (I can hear you say, yeah right, I bet it was all “useful” and “needed”)  No really, I did use most of it!

Since I spent a lot of time in this space, after awhile I really had no concept of what others saw when they first saw it.  My mind had manufactured some other kind of world and when I saw the photographs I was shocked.  I was blown away at just how much stuff I had and how poorly my space really looked.  I also began to see how I needed to dig out and lighten the space and change my perspective.

How you can dig out of an overwhelming clutter crisis in a few easy steps, is the subject of an upcoming post.  If you have a problem space, go ahead and take photographs of the room now.  We do a kind of “before and after” with these to help keep our space looking the way we want it to.

Imagine your space exactly the way you want it.  Because imagination is really more important than knowledge.
